“The hills were alive with wildflowers
And I was as wild even wilder than they
For at least I could run they just died in the sun
And I refused to just wither in place.”

Song by Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt

The Trio project came about through an invitation from Winnipeg-based art collective Parameter Press to create an original risograph edition. Through pondering the challenge of creating works on paper that would reflect the myriad interests of the Ephemerals, inspiration came from the 1987 album “Trio” by country music legends Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris. In the liner notes of the album Parton, Ronstadt, and Harris are represented as paper dolls with various outfits printed with a limited colour palette, perfect for reproduction on the risograph. The resulting Ephemerals paper dolls come with clothing and accessories representative of the collective’s myriad and mutable interests.

2016, edition of 200, paper dolls and poster, organized and sold by Parameter Press.
